Well, it's officially been a year since Baby C made his debut into this world. We celebrated with a day full of family time and fun.
We started at a beautiful state park with a beach. Baby C ate sand, sat in water, and tried to run away several times. In other words, he
loved it.
After a few hours the kids got tired, so we hosed them down and brought them home for presents and cake. Baby C actually looked in his gift bags and acknowledged his presents, so I'd call them a success.

| The quintessential baby present: tissue paper |
 |
| A soccer ball that's soft enough to throw at siblings |
 |
| "What else you got in there, Mama?" |
 |
| "I'm just going to take a quick nibble while you open that." |
 |
| Racetrack carpet! |
 |
| "Thanks for my delicious tractor." |
 |
| "Seriously Mama, clothes?" |
After presents, I brought out his cake. Since Baby C is such a huge fan of trees, I attempted to make a tree from green cake pops. It turned out looking more like broccoli, but Baby C didn't notice.

Baby C enjoyed his cake:
But he was wiped out:
 |
| Must finish birthday cake...must keeps eyes open... |
So Baby C had a nap and Mama worked for a while. For dinner, Baby C got spaghetti and meatballs and watermelon. He was in baby heaven. (G and S were also in heaven when they saw the watermelon being diced up.)
For the second time today, I whisked him off to be hosed down, slapped one of his new onesies on him, and got him to bed.
What a great first birthday...what a great little boy.
