When the Kids are Away....

...The parents will play! Well, maybe not "play" but instead cook a really nice meal just for themselves.

Randy and I tucked the kids into bed on Thursday night and then proceeded to cook a feast of monumental proportions just for us grown-ups. It was fun, frivolous and I highly recommend this indulgence for parents who may not be able to escape for a date outside of the house.
The Appetizers: Roasted Artichokes, Tomatoes, Peppers; Marinated Mushrooms and Olives; and Mozzarella!
These came in handy because we're used to eating dinner with the kids at 5 and we were hungry!
The Meal: Pan-Seared Scallops and Steamed Shrimp w/Linguine in a Beurre Blanc Sauce; Roasted Parmesan Asparagus; Olive/Rosemary Rolls; and Wine (!!)
The Dessert: Mudslide Milkshakes
What a great way to unwind after all the sickness and craziness of the past two weeks. :)
