Our tradition is to decorate the apartment the day after Thanksgiving. For the first time since we became parents, we were able to "free" our tree. No gates required (at least not until next Christmas).

Just before bed, I turned out the lights and let the kids see the tree in all its glory, to which S exclaimed "The Christmas tree is so beautiful!", G immediately started planning theatrical performances for the season, and C just jumped up and down in front of the tree yelling "It's Christmas tree! It's Christmas tree!"
We're ready for the season!
