This weekend we took the kids to a farm festival, which is an excellent way to score free organic chocolate milk and also become more aware of the local food market.
The kids had the best time getting their faces painted, looking at animals, planting seeds, and tasting samples. (This region has so much to offer when it comes to local food.)
The highlight for mom and dad was sampling local wine. ;)

We spent the afternoon celebrating a very special little boy's first birthday. The kids ate cupcakes and ice cream and jumped on a trampoline and threw water balloons with their friends while I got to eat homemade tamales, salsa, and other delicious food and talk to grown-ups. Every birthday party should have homemade tamales, just sayin. :)
