Getting "Schooled"

As brand new first-time home owners, Randy and I are learning how to do so many things that we've never had (or simply been able) to do. We make a lot of mistakes, but we're laughing as we go and just enjoying that we at last have the opportunity to make them.

I've discovered that poor fine motor skills makes for less than stellar painting outcomes. But I've also discovered that a new coat of paint can make Craigslist "curb alerts" into something beautiful.

Before
After (One of many, many such projects)
We've learned a bit about how to make our apple trees happier (we hope)

Randy made a cinder block fire pit, which turned out awesome!

We'd never grilled before, but we made some tasty burgers!

We learned that corn will grow anywhere that it wants to, even outside your bedroom window.
And that outdoor eating is pretty fantastic.

So is peach cobbler (and living a half mile from a fruit farm)!

N's learning new things, too. :)
We've learned about sanding, trimming, grass fungi, upholstery patching, caulking, and on and on and on.

And eventually we'll get the hang of these things, but for now we're just enjoying the crash course in home ownership.
