I had lofty ambitions of creating a cute little Christmas post, complete with sweet pictures captured during our many family events last week. However, since before we got home I've been fighting a nasty cold (perhaps even the flu) and we've been slowly passing it to every family member since we returned on Thursday.
Since I only have a few brief minutes, let me succinctly describe what the past four days have been like:
Pajamas, frozen dinners, Blue's Clues, tissues, Motrin, 103.6 degrees, snot-covered clothes, crying, 2 AM, Veggie Tales, Tylenol, 3 AM, more tissues, steamy showers, medicine charts, 12:45 AM, Lady and the Tramp II (over and over and over again), more Motrin, 102.8 degrees, more tissues, more crying, naps, coughing, saline drops, cough drops, cabin fever, chocolate cupcakes before lunch, popsicles, and did I mention crying?
Obviously I've just been running in parent survival mode. The oldest is starting to feel better and the baby, while cranky, no longer has a fever. S is struggling today and seems to have the worst of any of us so far. It took both Motrin and Tylenol for his fever to finally come down.
So I guess the cute little Christmas post will have to wait until this passes, and until I've had like 2 weeks to regroup.
Happy New Year!
