Apparently this is my 100th post since I started chronicling our adventures for all our out-of-state family and friends! So it seems appropriate that I have so much to say.
Last week I had a class for work that was in Virginia. I gathered the kids, a ton of car snacks and our portable dvd players and hit the road.
We stayed with my parents all week and Grandpa watched the kids while I commuted back and forth to class each day. He stuffed the kids with berries, chocolate milk, green bell peppers, and ice cream. He changed diapers, went to the play place, and kept them busy. They had such a good week! In the evenings I'd get home and my Dad had already made dinner, my Mom had bathed everyone, and on one occasion, C was already asleep! They took such wonderful care of us. We even got to celebrate my kids' Great Fairy Godmother's birthday and visit with my sister and her soon-to-be family (hooray for instant cousins!). I ate ice cream with old friends, and somehow even found time to finally get my bridesmaid dress.
We got back home last weekend and hit the ground running. G started swimming lessons (by her fourth lesson she was able to tread water for a minute or so!), S ate some mildly poisonous berries (he's fine, I'm scarred for life though), and C learned a new phrase ("Stop it!"). As you can tell, we've been more than a little busy.
So without further ado, here are some snapshots of our adventures from the past two weeks:
| Making brownies with Nana |
| Celebrating our Fairy Godmother's birthday! |
| Nana and Grandpa's Neighborhood Pool |
| Ice cream at Berkey |
| Wait, how'd a picture of me get in here? |
| "Mmm!" Face |
| Happy to see Daddy again |
| Our garden. It's finally growing and at quite an insane rate. Hope to have some veggies to pick soon. |
| Swimming at the state park beach |
| C mostly threw sand around, which is an improvement over last year, when he mostly ate it. |
| C in a big rig at Touch-a-Truck Event! The kids loved this. G even got to go up in a fire truck bucket. |
| Randy trying out the firefighter gear at Touch-a-Truck. :) |
| The kids were impressed with Touch-a-Truck, and then they found the candy tent where a nice lady was handing out gobs of candy. Then they thought this was the greatest place on earth. |
We're embracing summer every chance we get. Hope you are too! :)
