It's Always April Fool's at the Adkins House

G has started a new phase of her development: practical joking (aka trying to convince Mama that she has lost her mind). She has been setting up certain situations to try and confuse the dickens out of me while merrily chuckling to herself:

Example 1: I was getting all the kids into their car seats. I placed the keys beside S's seat and buckled him in. As I finished clicking his chest piece, I reached for the keys and they were gone! I started to wonder "Where did I put those keys?" "They have to be in the car somewhere, because I unlocked it to get in." "How far could they have gone in two minutes?" Frustration begins to set in, then I glanced over at G, who was grinning from ear to ear. So I asked "G, do you have my keys?" To which she responded with hysterical laughter and pulled them out from under her tiny bottom. The little rat was sitting on my keys!

Example 2: G had made a mess of herself at breakfast. I asked her to bring me the wipe container so that I could help her clean off her face. She left the room and came back with the wipe container, which was open. "Mama," she asked with a serious face, "who left this wipe container open?" I furrowed my brow and pondered for a second and figured "Well, it was probably me after I changed Baby C." To which G responded with a wicked grin followed by "I opened these wipes!" "G," I said "You're going to make me think I'm losing my mind." All I got in response was more laughter.

As if it wasn't enough that I'm already scatterbrained from lack of sleep and general business, now I have a little person trying to convince me I am going senile before I am 30. And I fall for it every time.
